Metabo's history stretches over a century. It is mainly the history of a search for the most robust products with the longest service life. With every impact, every bore and every cut, professional tradespeople shape the world around us. For 100 years, Metabo have been supporting them by consistently improving the experience of working with power tools, and making the work as easy as possible

In 1924, at the eve of the economic depression of those times, Albrecht Schnizler, a baker's son, and his business partner Julius Closs co-founded Schnizler GmbH. They wanted to manufacture tools which would meet the higher demands of an increasingly engineered world better than most of the tools existing at that time.

One year prior, Albrecht Schnizler had designed his manual drill no. 18 in his parents' bakery. Today, the drill has a place of honour in their lobby. He called it the "Metallbohrdreher" or metal drill – the origin of the brand name, Metabo. With every innovation, every new product, and every new user, Metabo are shaping a brand which stands today for quality and reliability worldwide.

Formerly a mid-sized family business, has now become an important part of the international Koki Holdings Group.
